Michelle’s extensive experience in police communications was the perfect match for this national brief.
The National Cybercrime Programme is centrally funded and works with national, regional and Force level law enforcement agencies to enhance the Prevent, Prepare, Protect and Pursue capability in tackling Cybercrime.
Michelle was initially engaged to lead on the communications strategy for the programme, raising awareness of the roll out of Force level Cybercrime Units across the country and via the media. The role involves liaison with 43 Forces, national and regional law enforcement and senior stakeholders including the Home Office.
It has also involved leading on the organisation and promotion of two national conferences on behalf of Chief Constable Peter Goodman who leads on Cybercrime at a national level. Over 280 people law enforcement officials attended the first conference and over 200 national and internationals b businesses are signed up to attend the second.
