The Challenge:

Purple Pitches’ extensive experience in police communications was the perfect match for this national brief.

The National Cybercrime Programme is centrally funded and works with national, regional and Force level law enforcement agencies to enhance the Prevent, Prepare, Protect and Pursue capability in tackling Cybercrime.

Purple Pitch was initially engaged to lead on the communications strategy for the programme, raising awareness of the roll out of Force level Cybercrime Units across the country and via the media. The role involves liaison with 43 Forces, national and regional law enforcement and senior stakeholders including the Home Office.

However the remit of the programme and that of Purple Pitch has expanded significantly and the team now provide communication support to a portfolio of national projects.

Deliverables included:

• Management and delivery of two national conferences annually
• Brand development, launch and roll out of Police CyberAlarm
• National branding strategy for Cyber Resilience Centres
• Developing communications strategy for the programme
• Manging crisis communications and media relations
• Ongoing advice and consultancy to the team
• Creation of monthly newsletter to Team Cyber UK network

Result

The National CyberCrime Programme is now recognised as the lead programme in the development of national tools, training and capability to tackle cybercrime in the UK.
